Your first visit is all about you: your comfort, your happiness, and your health

Our practice is committed to providing you and your family with safe, gentle, high-quality dental care. We understand that you or your child may feel anxious about visiting the dentist. We are sensitive to your needs, and it is our goal to make you feel comfortable visiting our practice while providing the best care possible.

During your first visit, we will review your dental and medical history forms, and take X-rays of your teeth and mouth. The Doctor will meet with you to discuss your X-rays, help you create your own individual treatment plan, and answer any questions you may have. One of our skilled hygienists will also clean, polish, and inspect your teeth and gums for cavities or early signs of tooth decay or gingivitis.

Bring your smile, but also remember to bring these with you to your first appointment

Regular checkups are an important part of maintaining a healthy smile!

The American Dental Association recommends a visit to your dentist every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings to keep your teeth and gums healthy.

We understand you have a busy schedule, so when you’re preparing to visit our office, please remember your appointments can last between 60 and 120 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my initial appointment be?

Your first appointment will be a thorough periodontal examination by the hygienist and comprehensive exam by the doctor. The hygienist will take any necessary x-rays, complete dental charting, take intra-oral pictures and recommend and begin the type of dental cleaning you will need. This is roughly a 1 ½ hour appointment.

Do you offer anything to calm my nerves?

We care deeply about your apprehension and fears regarding dental treatment. We offer a variety of options including warm blankets, nitrous oxide (happy gas), sunglasses and noise reduction headphones with music. We want you to be as comfortable as possible.

Do you see children and at what age?

Yes, we love to practice family dentistry. We recommend bringing in your child anywhere from 2 to 3 years of age for a “happy visit”. The child may not be ready for the hygienist and dentist to actually clean their teeth, it is just a good way for the child to begin to feel comfortable in the dental office. In the unfortunate event that your child has severe dental problems or anxiety, she may refer the child to a specialist (pediatric dentist) to make the child more comfortable.
